BUY TICKETS HERE

Summit Lake, a beloved and ecologically rich municipal water body in Philmont, NY, is under threat of development. Clover Reach Partners LLC, aka Claverack Builders, wants to construct 16 high-end houses on 22 steep, wooded acres across the lake’s viewshed. Join local artists Greg Farley, Philip Goth, John Medeski, and Laura Zarougian and Little Tree for an incredible, eclectic evening of musical performances to benefit Summit Lake on Sunday November 12 at the Avalon Lounge in Catskill, NY. Tickets are $25 and are available from our event page: https://givebutter.com/91RBnd. A limited number of tickets will also be available at McNan’s Variety Store, 100 Main Street, Philmont NY.

100% of proceeds will go towards Summit Lake Conservation Group’s legal defense of Summit Lake.

Greg Farley is a songwriter and fiddler from Catskill, NY. He has released two albums, Taker Easy in 2018 and Brown Bag in 2021.

Philip Goth was founded by Josh Rawson. Josh joined a band called the Felice Brothers as a teenager, where he played bass and wrote songs. After eleven years he quit, envisioning a strange and haunting world of music of his own that he would later call Philip Goth. He released his debut album, Philip Goth, on Team Love in 2021 and a single, “Ambient Birds,” in 2023.

Famed keyboardist John Medeski is not easily contained to a single project or genre; he is credited on over 300 works to date, most notably as one third of the groundbreaking trio, Medeski Martin & Wood. Equally comfortable behind a Steinway grand piano, Hammond organ or any number of vintage keyboards, Medeski is a highly sought after improviser and band leader whose projects range from work with MacArthur Fellow John Zorn, The Word (Robert Randolph, North Mississippi Allstars), Phil Lesh, Don Was, John Scofield, Coheed & Cambria, Susana Baca, Sean Lennon, Marc Ribot, Irma Thomas, Blind Boys of Alabama, Dirty Dozen Brass Band and many more. Classically trained, Medeski grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, FL where as a teenager he played with Jaco Pastorius before heading north to attend the New England Conservatory. He released his first solo piano record, A Different Time, on Sony’s Okeh Records in 2013, and current projects include an album with his band Mad Skillet (Terrence Higgins, Kirk Joseph, Will Bernard), and HUDSON (a collaboration with Jack DeJohnette, John Scofield and Larry Grenadier), plus a documentary on Medeski Martin & Wood.

Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Laura Zarougian is a passionate singer-songwriter whose music is a captivating fusion of her Armenian heritage and a diverse range of American influences, including folk, country, and rock. During the challenging times of the pandemic, Laura embarked on a creative journey that resulted in her debut album, Nayri. Nayriserves as a powerful testament to the unifying force of music, transcending borders and generations. As an artist, Laura's music has become a channel for raising awareness about Armenian sovereignty and the struggles faced by her community. In a remarkable show of solidarity, she donated all proceeds from her record release party to Arktash, an organization dedicated to supporting Armenians facing oppression. Through her music and advocacy, Laura Zarougian continues to inspire, connect, and give voice to those who seek justice and freedom.

Summit Lake Conservation Group LLC was founded in 2022 with a mission to work with our community to advocate and hold our village responsible for the protection of Summit Lake—“the heart of Philmont”—as a priceless natural resource. We filed our first Article 78 lawsuit against Clover Reach Partners LLC, the Philmont Planning Board and Board of Trustees in September 2022. A judge in Columbia County Supreme Court sided with SLCG and threw out the Planning Board’s first approval of “The Woods” in January 2023. Clover Reach then filed a nearly identical proposal in February, which the Planning Board approved in April. SLCG filed a second Article 78 lawsuit in May 2023.
