Amy Rigby

A teenage denizen of CBGB who fell in love with country songwriting, Amy Rigby is best known for her album Diary Of A Mod Housewife. She started bands Last Roundup and the Shams in 80s/90s NYC before launching a solo career. Tackling themes more often associated with country and folk— getting by; getting older— from an ardent rock music fan’s perspective, Amy's love for punk, psychedelia, garage and good old songcraft spill out on record and across the stage. A longtime online diarist and podcaster, Rigby has contributed writing to the Village Voice, Talkhouse and Slate. Her first book, Girl To City: A Memoir was published in 2019. She lives, writes and records in Catskill, New York and tours regularly in the US and UK.

For the Avalon, Amy will be joined by her husband and sometime duo partner Wreckless Eric on bass and guitar, and Doug Wygal on drums.

“… a woman who's fully lived a rock and roll existence, from footloose bohemian youth through motherhood and marriages, and is still out there spinning tales made of whimsy and sudden shining insight. —Ann Powers, KNPR

“Singer-songwriter…doesn’t fully describe Rigby’s immense gifts and her devotion to the kind of pop and rock music that singer-songwriters often neglect.” —Nashville Scene

Anthony Kaczynski is a singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist.  He has been the touring guitarist for The Magnetic Fields since 2016, currently leads the rock band Fireking, sings in the band Gymnasium, plays guitar for Trusty Sidekick (and also produced their 2013 album “The Friends of Trusty Sidekick), performs solo acoustic shows when the spirit moves him, and is generally in demand as a guitarist and sideman throughout the Boston music scene.  He was the co-founder, vocalist, principal lyricist and keyboardist of Figures on a Beach, who began their career in his hometown of Detroit and went on to release two albums on Sire in the 1980s as well as a handful of indie EPs.  Anthony is passionate about books, film, and of course music, and thinks that a sesame bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese and capers from Russ & Daughters may be the pinnacle of human achievement.
