Jon Woodin

A singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, most significantly inspired by the music of Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce and James Taylor. Jon’s music combines their styles with a hint of traditional Celtic to create a sound that is both refreshingly original and heartbreakingly familiar.

Since graduating from Hampshire College in 2014, this young artist has launched himself into the music scene full time, each year producing all new original songs and pieces ranging multiple genres. While mostly writing for guitar and vocals, Jon experiments with any instrument he can get his hands on and weaves them together to produce full one-man band arrangements, some examples of which can be heard on his first homemade album “The Dreamer” (available on iTunes, Amazon MP3 and CD Baby), and “The Hudson Dusters - Dare To Dream” a collaboration album with well known Catskill ukulele master, Foggy Otis, as well as in multiple YouTube videos including Jon’s own homemade music video “If You Want Me.”

Jon often cohosted the Club Helsinki Open Mic Night at the popular night club located on 405 Columbia St in Hudson, and was on standby to accompany other solo artists on the guitar, bass, or drums, should they ask. In addition to solo works, Jon is also a member of a number of local bands Including: The Dustbowl Faeries, A “Dark Carnival” band with Ryder Cooley, Ruby LaRue, Elizabeth LoGiudice and Andrew Stein, The Catskill Gamblers, an old-timey/celtic band with Bernie Newman, and The Brad Berk Band, a rising trio of guitar, bass and conga lead by Brad Berk himself, featuring Ngounga Badilla.
