PENNY SERENADE entertains with soulful music from the ragtime era, roots jazz, and popular song from 1890s - 1930s. JEFF WEINMAN leads PENNY SERENADE with piano played in the barrelhouse/stride style associated with the brothel and speakeasy pianists of New Orleans, St. Louis, Baltimore, and Harlem in early 20th century. Jeff loves old songs and knows all the dirty lyrics. JONATHAN GREENE is an in demand player of traditional jazz, world music, and classical clarinet. He is known for his lyrical, hot swinging style. Jon is a key member of Hot Club of Saratoga, The Grand Boubousse, and is Musical Director of the annual Flurry Dance Festival in Saratoga. Kate Skwire has a rich, warm voice with the amazing ability to sing older styles of blues and traditional jazz, as well as more contemporary R&B with equal authority. Also Catskill folks, Kate is new in town so let's welcome her! There will be 2 sets of music from 7:30- 9:30. $10 at door.
